We're recruiting for a confident and personable Credit Controller to join a friendly and supportive finance team in central Darlington, with 2 or 3 days working from home. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a busy ledger while building strong customer relationships. This role would suit someone who enjoys speaking with clients, is confident negotiating payment solutions, and can think on their feet to resolve queries professionally and proactively.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and chasing outstanding payments.
- Building positive relationships with clients to encourage prompt payment.
- Negotiating payment plans and resolving account queries.
- Raising invoices and issuing customer statements.
- Maintaining accurate customer account records.
- Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
- Providing additional administrative support to the finance team as required.
About You
- Previous experience within Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
- A confident and professional telephone manner.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Able to negotiate effectively while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload.
- Strong attention to detail and good IT skills.
