ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years at Senior Accountant level with a proven record for managing clients and staff.
Job Specification: Main Responsibilities of the post
To work closely with The Partners managing client services.
You will be an experienced manager who can consistently demonstrate that you can be relied upon to deliver work to the highest standards, on time and to budget.
Highly motivated, capable of developing your own business skills and contributing to the firm’s growth either by taking the initiative with new business ideas or in supporting the partners with current ideas.
To assist with clients’ Accounts, Taxation and other records.
Manage and supervise the team.
To offer advice an answer queries for clients.
Any other ad hoc tasks
To be responsible for:-
Reporting directly to and working closely with the partners to manage a portfolio of clients ensuring that all deadlines are met, the work is carried out within budget and the job is completed efficiently.
First point of contact for clients along with Partners.
New client: –
New Client form completed and saved in X/C&S-Admin and Practice/New client ID & Forms
ID scan passport/driving licence and utility and save in the same folder until Admin complete and move to client folder.
Oversee engagement and advise Admin for clearance letter to previous accountants
64-8 completion and issue to Admin to send.
Client Work in Progress
Oversee staff chasing clients’ documents for VAT, accounts and Tax.
Co-ordinating WIP for accounts/VAT team and distribute work to the staff. Brief the staff completing the task ensuring time, notes on the file from previous years and any other points are discussed. Offer guidance on processing through to completion.
Client reviews. Review work completed by VAT, accounts and tax – update the Managers Notes for review back to staff ensuring the tasks have been completed in a timely manor and pass completed accounts through to Partners.
Completion of accounts – Oversee the completion of the accounts, uploaded to HMRC, Co. House and issue annual fee, company secretarial and letter to the client for signature along with bounds.
Client meetings: Arrange client meetings to discuss accounts and other business periodically as required. Add Partner to meeting who will decide if they want to attend.
Supervise the follow up of client signatures through Admin.
Client Fees – Annual reviews of fees for all department and assist with credit control when required.
Payroll department: coordinate with payroll for Directors annual salary and other payroll issues that may arise.
Billing – oversee VAT and Accounts billing and monitor WIP for write offs and productivity.

Training and mentoring of staff including annual appraisals.
Recruitment: assisting in interviews and recruitment of staff.
