Are you an experienced customer service professional who thrives in a fast paced environment? My client, a well established business based in Bishop Auckland, is looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across departments and takes pride in providing a first class customer experience.
In this varied role, you will be responsible for handling customer orders, managing queries, and resolving complaints or issues efficiently and professionally. You will play a key part in ensuring orders are processed accurately and customers are kept informed throughout the journey.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the sales and production teams to enhance the overall customer experience
- Support the order coordination process to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure all data entry is accurate and completed within required timescales
- Manage order amendments from the point of original order receipt
- Provide customers with updated delivery dates and order confirmations
- Review customer requirements and ensure delivery performance targets are achieved
- Provide customers with estimated delivery times and weekly delivery reports
- Communicate openly with customers where delivery targets cannot be met due to production issues
- Support the order processing team during busy periods when required
- Assist with resolving transport related issues and maintaining service standards
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and procedures
- Share knowledge and best practice across teams
- Continue developing technical knowledge through training and learning opportunities
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards
- Previous experience within a customer service or order processing role
- Experience using enterprise resource planning or manufacturing resource planning systems, alongside Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Strong problem solving skills with a proactive approach
- Confidence when handling challenging situations or customer complaints
- Commercial awareness and the ability to influence positive outcomes
