We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Production Supervisor to join a busy manufacturing operation in Bedale. This is a key role responsible for supporting the smooth running of production, ensuring targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will lead by example, supporting and motivating the production team while also being actively involved in operating machinery and the day-to-day running of the production area.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily production plans are achieved, meeting customer requirements for quality, quantity, and timescales.
- Provide hands-on leadership and support to production operatives, encouraging teamwork, efficiency, and a positive working environment.
- Operate machinery and support production processes alongside supervising the team.
- Ensure all team members are trained, following standard operating procedures and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety compliance.
- Monitor production records, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and in real time.
- Support quality checks, including metal detection procedures and product traceability requirements.
- Ensure any non-conforming products are managed correctly in line with quality procedures.
- Identify issues quickly and take appropriate corrective action where required.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices.
About You
Essential:
- Proven experience supervising within a fast-paced food production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and support a team while maintaining standards and discipline.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and following standard processes.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role within a production environment.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a meat production or similar food manufacturing facility.
- Experience operating production machinery.
- Knowledge of quality checks and food safety systems.
