A well-established and successful SME business in central Harrogate is looking to recruit a qualified Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team. This is a newly created position, you will be the No 2 finance person for the business, reporting to the Managing Director and Financial Controller, who also have 2 accounts assistants in the team.

To be considered you should be either CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified and be on one month's notice or less.

Responsibilities:
  • Involvement in company accounts and investments.
  • Ensure the accurate recording, filing, and reporting of all financial transactions.
  • Collect cost information and maintain an expense database.
  • Analysing fixed costs.
  • Analyse and report profit margins.
  • Liaising with auditors.
  • Personal and Corporate tax duties.
  • Occasionally liaising with HMRC.
  • Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist the accounting staff as and when required.
  • Covering the Financial Controller’s duties during their holiday periods.
  • Manage cash flow and profit and loss by tracking transactions and regularly compiling the internal reports.
  • Present reports to senior executives, shareholders and board members.
Skills Required:
  • Fully qualified.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to compile detailed accurate reports.
  • Experience of Sage.
  • Experience within manufacturing or property advantageous.

In return you will be offered working hours of 9-5pm with an hour for lunch, a central location in modern offices with onsite parking, and close proximity to train and bus links and Harrogate amenities.
