Job Description
An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an Accountant to join its friendly and professional team in Elland. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT Level 4 qualified Accountant with ideally 2 years' post-qualification experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive practice environment. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with more extensive practice experience and strong client-facing skills.
- Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Produce personal, partnership and corporation tax returns.
- Prepare VAT returns and financial statements.
- Liaise with clients to resolve queries and gather information.
- Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines for accounts and tax submissions.
- Maintain accurate client records and support company secretarial duties.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
- Support junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement across the practice.
- AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years' accountancy practice experience post qualification.
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with a proactive and professional approach.
- Experience using IRIS software would be advantageous but is not essential.
