Senior Accountant
Location: Ripon (3 days per week) & Leyburn (2 days per week)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a friendly and growing accountancy practice supporting a varied portfolio of clients.
This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and is confident managing a broad range of responsibilities within a practice environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance
- Preparation of personal and business tax returns
- Handling client queries and providing practical accounting support
- Assisting with payroll processing (desirable)
- Ensuring compliance with current accounting and tax regulations
Requirements:
- AAT qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong working knowledge of accounts preparation
- Experience with VAT and MTD submissions
- Familiarity with tax return preparation
- Payroll experience advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
