The Role
As an Accounts Assistant / Associate, you'll work with a broad portfolio of clients, supporting the delivery of high-quality accounting and business advisory services.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing year-end financial statements for a range of businesses and organisations.
- Assisting clients with bookkeeping, VAT returns and accounting software queries.
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting systems and day-to-day financial processes.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing a professional and responsive service.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across different service lines to deliver joined-up client support.
- Assisting with a variety of advisory and project work alongside routine compliance assignments.
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with junior colleagues where appropriate.
- Managing your workload effectively to meet client deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- AAT, ACA, ACCA or ICAS part qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience preparing accounts for a range of business entities.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT processes.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to continue learning and developing professionally.
