SHY Aviation is a global private jet charter company and brokerage founded in 2011 . Headquartered in Central London, the firm provides end-to-end luxury travel solutions, including private jet hire, helicopter transfers, and large-group charters.

Job Description

SHY Aviation is a London-based private jet charter broker delivering bespoke air charter solutions to corporate, sporting, entertainment and private clients worldwide. As we grow our service offering beyond on-demand private jet charter, we are expanding our dedicatedGroup Chartercapability β€” sourcing and managing aircraft of 19+ seats for clients who need to move large groups together, safely, discreetly and on their own schedule.

The Role

The Group Charter Manager will lead and grow SHY's Group Charter proposition: the exclusive charter of airliners and large-cabin aircraft (19 seats and above) for corporate groups, sports squads and their travelling supporters, music tours (bands, crews and orchestras), and large family or leisure groups. This is a hybrid sales and delivery role β€” part new-business broker, part account manager, part operations lead β€” reporting to the Head of Sales.

You will own the full charter lifecycle: identifying and winning group charter opportunities, sourcing and negotiating aircraft from SHY's operator network, and managing execution through to flight completion, all while building Group Charter into a recognised, repeatable revenue line for the business.

Key Responsibilities

New business & client management

  • Identify, pursue and convert new group charter opportunities across corporate, sport, music/entertainment and leisure segments
  • Build and manage direct relationships with travel bookers, team operations staff, tour managers and event organisers
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for group charter clients from initial enquiry through to post-flight follow-up
  • Cross-sell group charter into SHY's existing private jet client base, and refer private jet opportunities the other way
  • Represent SHY at relevant industry, sport and entertainment events to build the client pipeline
  • Source suitable aircraft (19+ seats) from SHY's operator and airline network for each group's requirements β€” passenger numbers, cargo/equipment needs, route, and cabin configuration
  • Negotiate charter rates and terms with operators to secure competitive, deliverable pricing
  • Maintain and expand SHY's database of group charter-capable operators and aircraft, keeping fleet, capability and pricing data current
  • Manage each charter from quotation through booking, contracting, manifesting and flight-following to completion
  • Coordinate logistics specific to group moves: baggage and equipment allowances, catering, ground transport, VIP handling, and any bespoke requirements (e.g. team nutrition, instrument/equipment transport, supporter group logistics)
  • Liaise with operators, ground handlers and airports to manage schedule changes, delays and last-minute requests
  • Ensure every booking meets SHY's legal, insurance and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Produce flight briefs, post-flight reports and client invoicing in line with company process

Commercial ownership

  • Own and report against Group Charter revenue and margin targets
  • Track market trends, seasonal demand (pre-season tours, festival/tour season, event calendars) and competitor activity to inform pricing and sales strategy
  • Contribute to the wider commercial strategy for building out Group Charter as a distinct SHY service line

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in aircraft charter broking, group/airliner charter, or a closely related aviation sales and operations role
  • Ability to travel worldwide at the moment notice as necessary to ensure the operation takes place to the highest standards
  • Existing relationships with, or credible route to, corporate travel buyers, sports team operations/logistics staff, tour management companies, or event organisers
  • Working knowledge of large-cabin/airliner-type aircraft, operator markets and charter contracting
  • A confident, resilient sales operator who can also manage the operational detail of a live charter under time pressure
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills, with the judgement to manage demanding clients and tight deadlines calmly
  • Comfortable working outside standard hours when a charter requires it (evenings, weekends, travel-day support)
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail across contracts, manifests and compliance paperwork
  • Self-starting and target-driven, with the ambition to build a new business line rather than simply run an existing book
  • Existing book of group charter clients or operator relationships that could transfer
  • Experience specifically within sport, music/touring or events logistics
  • Familiarity with charter management/CRM systems

Package

  • Competitive base salary, dependent on experience
  • Uncapped commission structure on group charter revenue, in line with industry standard
  • London-based, with travel as required to support charters and build client relationships
