To assist the Building Consultancy division and Regional Director with the expansion and provision of building consultancy throughout the country, principally the Surrey team.

Role Dimensions

  • Assist in the achievement of personal and divisional fee targets set by Divisional Head.
  • Develop existing clients to increase income targets for individual fee income & Surrey team.
  • Monitor personal levels of aged debt no greater than 2 times level of fee income.
  • Develop new clients via business generation and marketing to improve income levels for individual & Hampshire team.
  • Achieve personal income Year 1 as agreed with line manager.
  • Assist with development of Graduate Building Surveyor/s.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be versed with and undertake all the usual aspects of building surveying.
  • To undertake continuing professional development (CPD) in matters relevant to building surveying and in compliance with RICS.
  • To assist in maintaining good relations with all clients and company personnel.
  • To liaise with and assist other members of the Company with provision of building consultancy services.
  • To maintain and improve office systems.
  • To help promote the Building Consultancy Division and the firm as a whole, both locally and nationally.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality concerning the Company and its clients.
  • To observe the requirements of the Company's and the Division’s Procedure Manuals at all times.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by Management from time to time.
  • To generate Building Consultancy opportunities with both internal and external clients to promote services within Surrey and surrounding areas.
  • To assist cross selling of SHW services to clients.
  • Assist Regional Partner in development and expansion of Surrey BCD team.

Communications & Working Relationships

  • Internal: Building Consultancy division in all offices. Other SHW Divisions in order to cross sell services and offer clients comprehensive property services.
  • External: Clients, Contractors, Other property professionals.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Undertake all level of instructions successfully and efficiently.
  • To generate new targets to achieve new external client instructions.
  • To achieve annual fee targets to fulfil annual BCD target.
  • To monitor the Hampshire team annual fee targets to achieve the team target considering the overall BCD target.
  • To monitor and maintain level of aged debt to within 2 months of fee income.
  • To maintain and develop personal client base.
  • To comply with RICS Rules of Conduct including achievement of annual CPD requirements.
  • To cross sell SHW services to all clients where feasible.
  • Provide administration information to HOD and Divisional Administrator as requested from time to time within time deadlines set.

Person Specification

  • Ability to work independently or as a team member for both divisional office and BCD division.
  • Utilise past experience as Chartered Building Surveyor to progress, manage and complete instructions on behalf of clients.
  • Remain approachable to all members of staff to assist queries raised in dealing with instructions or business related matters.
