We’re looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12 month contract. Based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working, you’ll support with Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring accurate posting, VAT compliance, and effective working capital management. You’ll also support transformation projects by applying strong data practices and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
Overview
- Process purchase invoices
- Support purchase invoice enquiries from the Business Unit to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Process expenses transactions into the ledgers
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations
- Support the delivery of internal and external audit documentation
- Enter sales invoices into our system
- Perform credit control tasks
- Support the AR team lead with knowledge of customers & outstanding balances for the calculation of bad debt provisions
- Maintain and optimise the supplier & customer master records
- Daily bank reconciliations
Responsibilities
- A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or relevant practical experience within a finance function
- A strong data and systems mindset
- The ability to deliver to tight timescales and deadlines consistently
- Excellent day to day planning and organisational skills
- Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, practicality, reliability, flexibility, and results oriented
- Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal relations at all levels
- The ability to engage and influence colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- 12 Month Contract
- Generous Annual Leave– Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service
- 37.5 hours per week– Monday to Friday, hybrid role (2 days in the office per week)
