We are looking for a Laboratory Support Administrator to join our team in Ashbourne.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical laboratory environment and is interested in sample handling, traceability, quality processes and laboratory operations. The role is ideal for an early-career candidate, recent graduate or someone with experience who is looking for a flexible part-time position.

You will support the day-to‑day running of the Laboratory by helping ensure that samples, records and laboratory processes are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with required standards.

What you’ll do

  • Support sample administration, laboratory coordination and wider operational activities, working closely with Laboratory and Quality colleagues.
  • Register, label and track samples accurately to ensure correct documentation and traceability.
  • Check sample paperwork, labelling and flow through the Laboratory.
  • Maintain worksheets, records and relevant information in Excel, Microsoft Office and, where applicable, LIMS.
  • Support the processing of analytical results and associated documentation.
  • Assist with laboratory equipment mapping and serial‑number records.
  • Contribute to laboratory projects, innovation activities and improvement initiatives.
  • Support selected laboratory analysis activities following training.
  • Provide cover for colleagues when needed.
  • Maintain an organised work area and follow relevant laboratory and quality procedures.

Who we’re looking for

  • An individual who enjoys structured, accurate work and is keen to learn in a practical laboratory environment.
  • Recent graduates, early‑career professionals or those with previous experience in a laboratory, quality, manufacturing, food, feed, FMCG or other regulated environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with Laboratory and Quality colleagues.
  • Basic Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, site‑based environment.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Interest in developing laboratory, quality or technical skills over time.
  • Attention to detail, a methodical and organised approach to handling records, labels and documentation accurately, and a proactive, curious and reliable mindset.
  • Previous experience with sample registration, traceability, laboratory systems, quality documentation or basic laboratory analysis is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided.

Location: Ashbourne, UK

Work model: Fully site‑based

Contract: Part‑time (20 hours per week)

Working hours: Monday to Friday, typically 4 hours per day, with some flexibility around the daily working pattern.
