Geotechnical Site Technician

Kiwa CMT is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Technician to join our team. This role involves on-site work at various construction projects, primarily around the Midlands, with some duties based in our Derby laboratory. You will conduct high-quality testing services, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out geotechnical site and laboratory testing
• Maintain competency and authorization for test procedures
• Ensure equipment calibration and pre-test checks
• Regularly check test equipment and report any failures or damages
• Use and maintain equipment carefully, with weekly checks
• Accurately record test data and results as per procedures
• Maintain good site working practices

Requirements:

• Experience in geotechnical testing
• Knowledge of site and lab-based geotechnical test methods
• Ability to support training of other technicians
• Calibrate test equipment
• Motivated, positive, and focused
• Ability to handle a varied workload
• Strong communication skills and team orientation
• Ability to work independently
• Full UK driving license
• CSCS card

Qualifications & Benefits:

• Starting at 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy more and increase with service
• 38.75 hours/week, primarily site-based, with some work at Derby laboratory; paid overtime and occasional weekends
