Since 2006, we’ve built a business we’re proud of, one centred on doing the right thing for customers and colleagues alike. We’re now looking for a Finance Assistant to join a growing function reporting to the Finance Manager and be part of an office team that always seeks to go above and beyond for each other. We see this as a great foundational role which can act as a springboard for future career development whilst gaining day to day experience and study progression.
What you can expect:
- A hands-on transactional finance role covering sales and purchase ledger predominantly, and other aspects such as commissions, and reporting
- Hybrid working, combining office collaboration with home flexibility
- A supportive, close-knit team who genuinely help each other
- The chance to contribute ideas, improve processes, and add real value beyond “just posting numbers”
- Training, mentoring, and support if you’re pursuing AAT or similar qualifications
Why work for us:
- Study support
- 22 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, + an extra day off for your birthday (growing by 1 day / year from year 3)
- Uniform provided
- Health & wellbeing assistance programme
- A growing, profitable business with around 60 people — and very low staff turnover
- “People really matter here. You’re supported, trusted, and encouraged to grow.”
What you’ll be doing:
- Posting sales and purchase ledger transactions accurately in Xero
- Preparing supplier payment runs and doing reconciliations
- Processing monthly commissions
- Producing stock and receivables reports
- Responding to internal and external finance queries professionally
- Supporting the wider office team as needed
- Getting involved in ad-hoc tasks and continuous improvement
About you:
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
- Keen to progress your career, ideally working towards AAT or equivalent
- Confident using Excel and comfortable with financial systems
- Highly organised, methodical, and detail-focused
- Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with colleagues and customers
- Proactive, solution-focused, and willing to go the extra mile
- You share our values of humility, collaboration, honesty, learning, and excellence
