Modern heating systems are evolving - and we're looking for people ready to shape the future. We're looking for a Renewables Engineer to help maintain, install and repair low carbon heating systems across our housing stock. This opportunity is open across multiple levels, from Trainee through to Level 3.
About the role
As a Renewables Engineer, you'll carry out day to day installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding of domestic renewable technologies, including:
- Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
- Solar PV
- Solar Thermal
- Associated heating and electrical systems
Working in occupied homes, you'll deliver a right first-time service, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and customer care. Your level of responsibility and autonomy will reflect your experience - from developing your skills at Trainee/Level 1 through to leading installations, carrying out advanced diagnostics and supporting others at Level 3.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who shares our values and takes pride in delivering high quality renewable heating services that make a real difference to our customers and communities.
- Champion Communication: You communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues, building trust through calm, consistent interactions.
- A background in plumbing/heating (gas), electrical, or renewable technologies.
- Experience (or a strong interest at trainee level) in Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV, Solar Thermal and associated systems.
- The ability (or willingness to develop the ability) to fault find, repair and maintain domestic heating systems safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations.
- Strong awareness of health & safety, compliance and the importance of following risk assessments and method statements.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to participate in an out of hours rota.
- A commitment to Equality and Diversity.
- Relevant qualifications and experience will be considered in line with Trainee, Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 entry.
Pre employment requirements
The successful candidate will be required to complete a basic DBS check, DVLA check and a Right to Work check.
