Department: STAR Maintenance Team
Location: Shropshire. One position will work out of Oswestry and the other out of Bridgnorth (Travel throughout the Shropshire area may be required)
Hours: 37 Per-week (Mon-Fri - some weekend and evening work may be required when working out-of-hours)
Main Purpose
We are seeking 2 highly-motivated Multi-Skilled Operatives to:
- Effectively contribute to STAR Housing's aim of providing a customer focused, high performing, value for money property repairs service for its customers.
- To undertake a wide range of repairs and maintenance work to STAR Housing Stock.
Join our team to deliver high-quality repairs across multiple trades, including:
- Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Plastering, Bricklaying, and other construction skills
- Work to British Standards, manufacturer specs, and STAR Housing policies
- Collect materials for single-visit repairs
- Ensure safe working practices and excellent tenant service
- Maintain cleanliness and respect in tenants' homes
- Accurately complete job records and raise follow-up works if needed
- Keep van stock and tools in good condition; perform daily vehicle checks
- Attend required training and report safeguarding concerns
- Participate in out-of-hours emergency rota (application-based)
- Use mobile devices (iPad/Mobile phone) for job scheduling and completion
