This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Housing Team within Homes and Communities at Shropshire Council. The team leads on the development and delivery of housing strategies, policies, and projects that make a real difference to the lives of people in Shropshire. As Commissioning Business Support Officer, you will provide administrative and operational support for the Commissioning side of the team. The role includes supporting commissioning activity & projects across housing, including assisting with research and data analysis, maintaining records and databases, preparing reports, and contributing to project delivery. You will work closely with colleagues, housing providers, and partners to support the delivery and monitoring of commissioned services, ensuring they meet required standards and contribute to positive outcomes. The role also includes supporting health and safety compliance activities and helping to ensure services align with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Motivated and organized individual with experience in an administrative or support role
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly both written and verbally
  • Good ICT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience of working with data, including research, analysis, and reporting
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • An understanding of housing or social care services, including core housing management principles
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
