Shropshire Council is looking for a proactive individual to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner.
Responsibilities
- Provide budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, interpretation and information to facilitate effective decision making and performance management.
- Deliver expert business-related advice on financial management, accounting issues and value for money to senior managers and service managers.
- Support strategic policy development and ensure a high standard of financial discipline is embedded in decision-making processes.
- Achieve high customer satisfaction levels and make a demonstrable difference to the delivery of Council services.
- Deliver excellence in reporting, analysis and financial control, applying best practice across client service areas.
- Ensure that financial information is collated and reported accurately.
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree.
- Preferably CCAB qualified or working toward a CCAB qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of local government finance.
- Experience providing financial advice and support to senior management within a large or complex organisation.
- Proactive in identifying trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budget problems.
