An exciting opportunity for a Full‑Time Fostering Social Worker within Shropshire Council’s Childrens Placement Service, based in Shrewsbury. The role involves working with foster carers and colleagues across the Children’s Service to support the vision of providing children with the best care and ensuring Shropshire’s fostering families receive the best support.
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise mainstream foster carers, ensuring stable and nurturing home environments for children and young people.
- Develop support plans and initiatives within the team and across the service.
- Work inline with Fostering Regulations, completing regular supervision and support visits.
- Conduct fostering reviews and contribute to events that promote child safeguarding.
- Ensure children are safeguarded in our care at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified social worker with relevant experience in fostering.
- Enthusiastic, positive, flexible and capable of working to timescales.
- Committed to contributing to the development of the team and fostering carers.
- Collaborative working style with practitioners, foster carers and their support network.
