Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Shropshire Council’s Health Protection Team as an Environmental Health Practitioner.
In this role you will work in a busy team overseeing private water supply sampling and risk assessment programmes, including wider regulatory work that helps protect residents, support businesses and promote safe, fair trading across Shropshire.

Responsibilities
- Support regulatory projects, inspections, investigations and complaints.
- Conduct sampling of private water supplies and perform risk assessments.
- Collect, analyse and maintain accurate database records.
- Consider appropriate enforcement options and support innovative compliance activity across domestic and commercial supplies.
- Respond to customer enquiries and communicate statutory requirements to colleagues, businesses, partner agencies and members of the public.
Qualifications & Skills
- Motivated to learn and self‑directed.
- Well‑organised with strong attention to detail.
- Customer‑focused and able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience or training in environmental health, water supply regulation or a related field is desirable.
