Shropshire Council is looking for a proactive individual to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, interpretation and information to facilitate effective decision making and performance management.
  • Deliver expert business-related advice on financial management, accounting issues and value for money to senior managers and service managers.
  • Support strategic policy development and ensure a high standard of financial discipline is embedded in decision-making processes.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction levels and make a demonstrable difference to the delivery of Council services.
  • Deliver excellence in reporting, analysis and financial control, applying best practice across client service areas.
  • Ensure that financial information is collated and reported accurately.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree.
  • Preferably CCAB qualified or working toward a CCAB qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local government finance.
  • Experience providing financial advice and support to senior management within a large or complex organisation.
  • Proactive in identifying trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budget problems.
