The Brand Shrimps is a London-based fashion label founded by designer Hannah Weiland in 2013. With a background in History of Art and Surface Textile Design, Weiland draws inspiration from the wit of modern art and a playful engagement with pattern and texture. Committed to cruelty-free fashion, Shrimps launched with luxury faux fur before expanding into a multi-category brand spanning outerwear, knitwear, accessories and more recently, a sell-out baby collection.

We are looking for an ambitious Product and Operations Manager to join our small, close-knit team. This is a pivotal role, central to the smooth running of the business, with a strong focus on critical path management. As a small brand, we need someone who thrives in a broad, senior-level position — supporting the Founder across business development, product development and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will be a confident generalist: curious, hands-on and comfortable moving across departments and projects. You will bring solid womenswear technical knowledge, experience in production planning and logistics, and a genuine interest in business development.

Working with the wider team, you will lead the development of our biannual collections across outerwear, knitwear, RTW, jewellery, accessories and baby/kids — from sourcing and sampling through to small-batch production and delivery to our UK warehouse. Alongside this, you will oversee the day-to-day running of our studio, manage company budgets (with support from our fractional CFO), handle cashflow and payments, and play an active role in staff development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to progress to a MD or General Manager role in the future, and looking for a place to make a real impact.

About You

  • At least 6 years' experience in fashion, ideally within an SME in a similar management role
  • In-depth knowledge of womenswear product development and strong technical expertise
  • Confidence managing cashflow, budgets and payments
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Familiarity with day-to-day business operations — office management, building comms and the like
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and genuine enthusiasm for contributing beyond your remit
  • Strong communication skills and ease managing relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • A collaborative spirit and the confidence to bring new ideas to the table

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Critical Path for all Shrimps product, from sourcing and development through bulk production to delivery
  • Maintain all master files and systems (primarily Zedonk), ensuring accuracy from product development handover to delivery
  • Oversee all garment tech functions, including PPS fits and comments, production pattern cutting and grading
  • Source, order and track all raw materials, trims, labelling and packaging
  • Negotiate prices, supplier minimums and lead times to keep the critical path on track
  • Manage all required product testing and QC
  • Oversee bulk shipping and imports, liaising with the warehouse, finance team and shipping brokers — a strong understanding of logistics, import duties and taxes is essential
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring consistent standards of delivery, quality and margin
  • Continuously assess the existing supplier base and identify new partners where needed
  • Ensure all suppliers operate ethically and work towards more sustainable practices
Operations and Finance
  • Oversee day-to-day office and building operations
  • Contribute to financial planning and offer strategic support for business growth, with support from our fractional CFO
  • Manage cashflow and process invoice and payroll payments
  • Create and manage seasonal buying budgets, cost of goods and production cashflow
  • Ensure costing and margin targets are met each season, driving positive margin growth and reporting changes to senior management
  • Continuously review and improve processes and structures to strengthen organisation, communication and effectiveness across the business
  • Support the Founder on collaboration and partnership deals, working with our external PR team
  • Act as a first point of contact for team HR matters, and lead staff reviews with the support of the Founder
  • Manage and develop our Studio Admin Assistant, working closely with the design team and Ecom Manager to ensure the smooth flow of information across departments
  • Be a proactive, positive presence and leader within the business

Key Benefits:

  • Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the office
  • Summer Fridays
  • Clothing allowance – 4 free pieces per year plus discount across range
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + your birthday off!
  • Employee benefit platform

This role is available on either a Full Time or 4 day/week basis, with a salary of £45 - 50k pa FTE, dependent on experience.
