We are looking for a Health and Safety Team Assistant to join our busy Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) Team.
The successful applicant will have a good standard of education including GCSE\’s in Maths and English (or equivalent) along with relevant experience of undertaking practical tasks in accordance with written procedures.
This post will be based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and there will be some cross-site working to The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and other Trust sites when required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake respiratory protective equipment (RPE) face fit testing using Accufit and Portacount machines, in support of colleagues whose work requires protection from infection or chemical exposures.
The post holder will undertake administration duties supporting face fit testing, including entering information into ESR, and supporting Ward and Department Managers to arrange repeat fit testing appointments.
The post holder will support the work of our Hood Library, which provides loose-fitting RPE wearers. This involves user training plus equipment inspection and maintenance.
From time to time the post holder will work in Trust workplaces to support staff who wear RPE for biological and chemical protection, undertaking audit, inspection and monitoring activities.
