We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support our Patient Access Team by handling Reception and Clinic Preparation duties.

Reception: the required hours are weekdays from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday and/or Sundays from 8am to 4pm.

Clinic Preparation Team: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, based at Atcham Business Park.

The successful candidates will be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

PAC Support Services Team provides support for most outpatient clinics at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH). This role involves greeting patients upon arrival, booking them into clinics, and ensuring that notes are prepared for clinical staff. The role also includes updating attendance records using the Trust’s Patient Administration System.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to use the Trust’s Patient Administration System (PAS) SEMA across all areas of Health Records and Patient Access. This will involve extensive daily use of a VDU and keyboard skills. Responsibilities include receiving, sorting, and delivering patient records to wards and departments, including peripheral buildings, as instructed by the Medical Records Supervisor. The role also involves providing a comprehensive health library service. The post holder must meet performance standards relevant to their area, maintain confidentiality in handling patient information, adhere to the Trust’s Confidentiality Policy and Information Governance guidelines, and work within the Trust’s Health & Safety policies. The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and physical effort, including moving and handling tasks.
