Join the Shred Station Team. Shred Station is looking for an experienced, reliable and hard-working HGV Class 1 RoRo Skip Wag & Drag Driver to join our growing team based at our Norwich depot. This is a varied and rewarding role operating our specialist Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) Skip Wag & Drag vehicle, collecting and transporting a wide range of waste and recyclable materials between customer sites and our recycling facilities.
This is more than just a driving role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on and isn't afraid to get involved. As well as driving, you'll assist with handling skips and materials, so you'll need to be comfortable getting your hands dirty when required. You'll regularly deal with general waste skips, alongside cleaner recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics and metals. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in delivering an excellent service.

The Role
- Operate a specialist Class 1 Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) Skip Wag & Drag vehicle.
- Exchange and transport RoRo skips safely and efficiently.
- Collect and transport a variety of waste and recyclable materials between customer sites and our recycling facilities.
- Carry out local and nationwide collections as required.
- Start between 5:00am and 7:00am, Monday to Friday.
- Work on a task-to-finish basis with a guaranteed minimum 40-hour contract.
- Undertake occasional overnight stays when operationally required.
Main Duties
- Drive company vehicles safely, legally and professionally.
- Exchange Roll-on/Roll-off skips at customer sites.
- Handle a variety of waste streams, including:
- General waste
- Paper and cardboard
- Plastics
- Metals
- Other recyclable materials
- Assist with loading, unloading and moving materials where required.
- Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects promptly.
- Complete electronic collection notes and associated paperwork accurately.
- Comply with all DVSA regulations, Drivers' Hours legislation, the Working Time Directive and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and roadworthy vehicle.
- Deliver excellent customer service while representing Shred Station professionally.
What You'll Need
- Valid Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 1 driving experience.
- Experience operating a Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) Skip Wag & Drag vehicle is preferred.
- A positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Physically fit and happy to undertake manual work as part of the role.
- Comfortable working with both general waste and recyclable materials.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Flexible with working hours, including occasional overnight stays when required.
Security Screening
Due to the nature of our business, successful applicants will be required to complete security screening to BS7858 standards, including:
- Five-year employment and residence history check.
- DBS check.
- Financial history check.
- Additional security vetting, including checks by UK Police Forces and up to UK Government Security Clearance (SC) level, may also be required depending on customer requirements.
