Overview
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a great opportunity for a full-time Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in Endocrinology at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia.
Position Highlights
- Excellent work/life balance | We staff Monday-Friday-- 0700-1800
- 8.5 or 9 hour shifts
- Provide care to our Nation's armed forces and their dependents
Position Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of LPN/LVN duties in accordance with assignment under the task order, including triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians' orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support.
Position Requirements
- A graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program OR be a graduate of an accredited LPN program by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), OR have completed an equivalent military training program.
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by NLNAC or CCNE at the time the program was completed.
- Possess a minimum experience of six (6) months within the last two (2) years as an LPN caring for patients with diabetes mellitus.
- Possess a minimum experience of one (1) year within the last two (2) years as an LPN working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or acute care setting.
- Active BLS certification.
- U.S. Citizen.
