Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) to join our GP surgery team in Smethwick on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced pharmacist to contribute to patient care in a well-supported primary care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medication reviews for patients with acute and long-term conditions
- Provide v300 prescribing in accordance with clinical need and scope of practice
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support safe and effective prescribing
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with local policy and GMC/GPhC guidance
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives where appropriate
Requirements:
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
- Recent experience in a primary care or GP surgery setting preferred
- Competence in medication review and autonomous prescribing (v300)
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Familiarity with EMIS Web (desirable but not essential)
