Job Description

HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY – BRIGHTON

We are currently looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide flexible cover at a friendly GP surgery in Brighton.

This is a great opportunity for an HCA looking for flexible work, with 1–3 days per week available and hours that can be arranged around availability and practice requirements.

The Opportunity

Location: Brighton
Days: 1–3 days per week
Hours: Flexible
Computer System: SystmOne

The Role

The successful HCA will support the practice team with a range of clinical duties, including:

  • Phlebotomy
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Height and weight measurements
  • NHS Health Checks
  • ECGs
  • Urinalysis
  • Basic observations
  • Supporting long-term condition reviews
  • Wound care and dressings where appropriately trained
  • Health promotion and lifestyle advice
  • Supporting GPs, Practice Nurses and the wider clinical team
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Ensuring clinical rooms are clean, prepared and appropriately stocked

About You

We are looking for an HCA who has:

  • Previous experience working within a UK GP surgery/primary care setting – essential
  • Experience carrying out routine clinical procedures
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and patient-facing skills
  • A reliable, professional and organised approach
  • The ability to work within their training, competency and scope of practice
  • Ideally, experience using SystmOne

Flexible Opportunity

The practice can consider candidates looking for 1, 2 or 3 days per week, with flexibility around working hours.
