We are Showsec, the award-winning venue and event security specialist dedicated to achieving excellence in crowd management.

We are looking for additional Event Safety Stewards to join our Sheffield team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at some of the city’s most iconic venues and events, including

Utilita Arena Sheffield, Sheffield City Hall, and more.

Join our team as an Event Safety Steward and help deliver safe and enjoyable events.

This role combines outstanding customer service with a strong focus on safety and security.

You’ll be responsible for monitoring crowds, conducting safety checks, and supporting with entry and exit procedures, while remaining approachable, professional and vigilant at all times.

What can Showsec offer you?

  • A minimum hourly rate of £15.07 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £13.45 and indicative holiday pay of £1.62).

Holiday pay is indicative because it is accrued at 12.07% for every hour worked in accordance with your average pay rate over the previous 52 worked weeks.

If you work at a different rate the pay and holiday pay will change accordingly.

  • What you will be doing
  • Perform pre and post event checks
  • Assist with safe and effective ingress, egress and queue management
  • Enforce venue policies and procedures
  • Pass, accreditation, and ticket checks
  • Monitor spectators for signs of distress, overcrowding and inappropriate behaviour, and report these to the on-shift supervisor
  • Be vigilant, identify potential hazards and suspicious behaviour, and report to the on-shift supervisor
  • Assist with evacuation and invacuation procedures in the event of an emergency
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to by all stakeholders
  • Understand and complete general stewarding responsibilities

The maximum pay rate applies to specific shifts such as club nights at specific venues.
