The HR Manager is responsible for managing and training a team of three direct reports and overseeing the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to performance, promotions, and processing of leavers. Showsec employs 160 employees and 5,000 casual workers who work nationwide. The HR Manager will provide information on wellbeing benefits and register qualifying employees onto the private medical insurance scheme. The role supports other departments by delivering clear processes, policies, and procedures that comply with relevant employment and industry regulations, and works closely with other leaders to ensure these are followed. The HR Manager will support line managers by providing training on new processes, policies, or best-practice leadership.
The HR Manager will manage ongoing compliance requirements for staff, including regular review of right-to-work checks (BS7858 screening), CCTV licence, SIA licence information, and overseeing accurate updating of staff information on the SmartG8 system and in personnel files. The position is based at our Head Office in Leicester, with some travel to other offices, events and venues across the country when required. The HR Manager will support the Head of HR to complete the onboarding of the new HRIS, Workday.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ensure ongoing BS7858 compliance for all employees and casual workers
- Maintain up-to-date employee records including right-to-work checks
- Oversee the updating of the SmartG8 system with right-to-work and licensing information
- Oversee the issuing of employee contracts and maintaining personnel files
- Train line managers in best-practice and legal compliance when managing staff
- Support Managers with investigations, disciplinaries, grievances or complaints
- Advise managers and employees on company processes and policies
- Support line managers with the company appraisal process

What we need from you
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Have or be working towards a CIPD Level 5
- Have experience in a Generalist or Advisory position
- Experience in leading a team
- Be able to demonstrate project management experience
- Communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and in writing)
