We are Showsec, the award-winning venue and event security specialist dedicated to achieving excellence in crowd management.
We are seeking additional Event Safety Stewards to join our Aberdeen team at major summer events, and other venues including P&J Live, and Aberdeen FC. The role of an Event Safety Steward is largely focused on customer service, so we expect you to be confident, approachable and friendly.
Our casual contract offers you great flexibility to choose when and where you want to work. Due to the nature of the events industry, evening and weekend availability is desired. Please note: shift availability is not always consistent or guaranteed, so this role would be ideal for candidates looking to top up their existing income.

We can only accept applications from candidates who are local to Aberdeen. Although you will primarily be based in Aberdeen, during festival season you will have the opportunity to work at events further afield if you are willing and able to do so!

- With Showsec you will be offered a variety of shifts starting at the base pay rate shown on this advert. The maximum pay rate displayed on this advert applies to specific shifts such as club nights at specific venues. It will remain your decision as to whether or not you wish to accept any offer of work in line with our flexible casual contract.

- As part of the screening process, you will be required to complete a Disclosure Scotland check.
What you will be doing
- Perform pre and post event checks
- Assist with safe and effective ingress, egress and queue management
- Enforce venue policies and procedures
- Pass, accreditation, and ticket checks
- Ensure fire exits and evacuation routes are always kept clear
- Monitor spectators for signs of distress, overcrowding and inappropriate behaviour, and report these to the on-shift supervisor
- Be vigilant, identify potential hazards and suspicious behaviour, and report to the on-shift supervisor
- Assist with evacuation and invacuation procedures in the event of an emergency
- Ensure health and safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to by all stakeholders
- Understand and complete general stewarding responsibilities
What Showsec can offer you
- A minimum hourly rate of £14.12 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £12.60 and indicative holiday pay of £1.52). Holiday pay is indicative because it is accrued at 12.07% for every hour worked in accordance with your average pay rate over the previous 52 worked weeks. If you work at a different rate the pay and holiday pay will change accordingly
