You are a resilient, confident, and driven candidate who will thrive in the role of an Operations Supervisor. To succeed, you should have proven experience from a security orientated background in live events, or medium to large scale staffing deployments with a deep understanding of security strategies. You will maintain a secure work environment. Experience within a supervisory role would be extremely advantageous as this role would require you to successfully lead teams at some of Birmingham’s most prestigious venues.

You will be the initial point of contact for all operational matters. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will work with clients daily with the purpose of delivering operational excellence for every event, including the management of staff in compliance with company protocols, legislation and agreed processes. As part of our commitment to continuous development, this role requires the completion of the Management Development Programme (MDP) at the earliest opportunity to progress to the role of Operational Executive.

What you will be doing:
  • Ensure the high quality delivery of operations, attending and managing events in consultation with your Area Manager.
  • Provide both briefings and debriefings to the casual workforce under your agreed remit, on both general and specific matters affecting the safety and security of each event.
  • Assist the responsible Operations Executive as directed, including liaison with agreed clients.
  • Create client facing documentation including financial quotations for the provision of staff whilst keeping the Area Manager informed.
  • Be responsible to clients and their representatives which fall under your agreed remit.
  • Respond to internal and external communications in a timely manner, including periods outside usual working hours when required and/or arranging the appropriate cover.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures relating to the role, including laws and regulatory influences.
  • Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of staff at events under your agreed remit ensuring all tasks are carried out in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Be competent in the use of the Company IT systems, including the bespoke database Smartg8.
  • Effectively manage your agreed split of operational and administrative hours and workload in consultation with your Area manager.
  • Work in conjunction with the Training Department to motivate and develop the casual workforce in line with Company objectives.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, ensuring you effectively communicate at all levels whilst maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post.

What we need from you:
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • SIA License – Door Supervisor.
  • Maths GCSE or equivalent (C or above).
  • English GCSE or equivalent (C or above).
  • Competent understanding of Microsoft Platforms; Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of client management & operational excellence.

Desirable Criteria:
  • UK Driving Licence.
  • CCTV Licence.
  • Close Protection Licence.
  • L3 Certificate in Spectator Safety.
  • L5 Aware in Crowd Management or equivalent.
  • FREC 3 or FPOS First Aid Qualification.
  • Higher level education i.e. A Level, Diploma, Degree.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
Internal Essential Criteria:
  • Showsec Supervisor Training.
  • Showsec Head of Security Training.
SALARY: £31,895 per annum. Increasing to £36,105 after successful completion of MDP.
