Overview

A rare opportunity has arisen for an Area Manager in the West Midlands area at Showsec. You will be responsible for the sales, operations and the efficient and effective running of the area office, including the management of Operations staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support, mentoring and guidance to both Operations Supervisors and Operations Executives when required
  • Ensure the high quality delivery of operations, monitoring events through regular contact with the Head of Security’s, attending events as and when required
  • Work in conjunction with Operations Executives, identify area staffing needs through data collected from venue and staffing audits and work with both the Recruitment and Training departments to address any issues, set targets and identify staff for progression
  • Regularly visit venues to build relationships with clients and venue managers as well as Showsec staff, conducting monthly audit of venue staffing to ensure all staff working events are briefed by the HoS
  • Ensure that professional standards are maintained and that the casual workforce are receiving the required levels of support, training and mentoring to allow them to develop and progress
  • Initiate sales, maintain company growth targets and source new business in agreement with the Regional Manager and current Business plan
  • Investigate and deal with complaints relating to Showsec staffing if escalated from the client, operational staff or HoS and provide guidance and resolutions in conjunction with HR, Health & Safety and Product Resourcing as the support functions
  • Monitor income and expenditure to maximise the budget and ensure effectiveness of resources
  • Assist the Regional Manager as directed
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post

What we need from you

  • You must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
  • Experience in operational management within the security, crowd management or event industries
  • Full driving licence
  • Strong leadership skills to coach, motivate and mentor team members
  • Strong experience in budgeting and management of costs
  • Strong administration skills in order to provide key reports and metrics
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Computer literate and competent at using Microsoft Office
  • Reliable, confident, and committed
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Maths GCSE or equivalent (C or above)
  • English GCSE or equivalent (C or above)
