Role and responsibility

The Showplace team is regularly on the look out for full-time staff to help with building and installing pods, structures and exhibition stands across the UK. Ideally you will be interested in, and have experience of, the exhibition industry. This is a hands-on practical role that will involve some workshop assembly duties at our base near Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as some deployment around the UK and very occasionally in Europe. The work will involve working away from home occasionally for a few nights, as well as some weekends.

The successful candidate will have a broad and practical knowledge of working with materials and tools and a willingness to undertake work of a physical nature both indoors and out. They will also embrace our company values which are at the heart of all we do.

In this role, you will:

  • Assemble structures and internal builds as laid out in the plans provided and directed by the manager/project lead.
  • Ensure Showplace Ltd’s standards are upheld on builds to the highest level.
  • Ensure that the correct equipment is used and appropriately maintained.
  • Report any faulty equipment and issues to your line manager.
  • Assist as required in all departments of the business as directed.
  • If driving, fill out the daily mileage log and vehicle checks and report any faults to the transport manager.
  • Ensure that the companies’ vehicles are kept clean and tools are stored correctly.
  • Help with ongoing repairs, maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Assist with keeping the yard and workshop clean and tidy.
  • Understand and use Quip (on-line job information).

Health & Safety

  • To work in a safe manner.
  • Always use the PPE provided and adhere to all site, yard and workshop rules.
  • Only use tools and plant as directed and that you have been trained to use.
  • Stop and report any mis-use of any health and safety rule or non-compliance with regards to PPE.

Requirements

  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Forklift licence if possible (not essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and work well within a team.
  • Ability to work across other departments as and when required.
  • Organised and practical.
