Showforce is a trusted, innovative and award-winning event crewing company specialising in providing experienced personnel to all areas of the entertainment industry. With operational offices in the UK, UAE, KSA and Qatar, we have almost 35 years' experience in ensuring film, television and theatre productions, live events, ceremonies, sporting, corporate and major public events run smoothly and efficiently.

We're looking for a Crew Manager to join our Operations Team. The role is based in London but does require travel throughout the UK and globally. If you're passionate about building and supporting your team, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task in a pressurised environment then this is the role for you.

Role:

You'll be responsible for the mentorship and development of our crew, along with supervising the crewing team, ensuring our clients' jobs are serviced with the most reliable and skilled crew in the industry. It's essential that you balance the needs of our crew, office-based team and clients.

Reporting to: Head of UK OperationsCrew Management:
  • Onboarding new crew members; explaining Showforce's working processes and procedures to instill our high standards and values in all crew members.
  • Build a strong rapport with crew chiefs and crew members.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the crew.
  • Be the conduit between the office and onsite operations.
  • Respond and resolve issues or problems within the crew with confidence.
  • Ensure crew chiefs are leading their teams to the highest standards onsite.
  • Hold regular crew chief meetings to improve communication, gather invaluable feedback and involve them in the management and development of the business.
  • Investigate and help to resolve any negative client feedback caused by operational issues, bad performance or similar.
  • Ensure crew uniform, attendance and performance are continually monitored and our high standards are maintained.
  • Support the scheduling and bookings team in staff allocation.
  • Support the recruitment team to ensure all new recruits are inducted as per company procedure.
Training and Monitoring:
  • Monitoring and acting on crew chief feedback.
  • Development of crew chiefs and training upcoming chiefs.
  • Work with crew chiefs to identify crew for development and promotion and to identify any crew who are falling short of expected standards.
  • Conduct crew appraisal and disciplinary meetings in line with company procedures.
  • Identify any shortage in crew training, booking in training courses such as FLT licences, CSCS and working at height training.
Site Roles:
  • Carry out regular site visits to develop client relationships and ensure that standards are being upheld.
  • Written site reports for each site visit to be circulated to relevant staff via CRM system.
  • Lead on jobs/projects in a crew boss capacity if and when required.
Other:
  • Represent the company at client meetings, trade exhibitions, networking events and training courses to ensure you are up to date with the latest trends and industry news.
  • Arrange and attend meetings to generate new business and manage relationships accordingly.
  • Report to senior management and assist with the development of long-range plans/goals for the business.
  • Assist the Middle East office or other location for up to two months at any one given time.
  • Participate in the out of hours team available 24 hours a day, based on a 4 week rota, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
  • 5 year event experience, ideally within the crewing industry.
  • Be approachable and trusted by the crew.
  • Highly organised and able to plan workloads and multi-task.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Self-motivated and outgoing.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Able to work under pressure and motivate a team to deliver even in difficult circumstances.
  • Full UK Driving License.
