We're looking for a friendly, reliable, experienced, confident and hands-on Community Facilities Leader to drive and take the lead on the set up, operation and pack down of our mobile shower unit at our Central London project and at our new Community Partnership services.

Note that we are growing this role alongside the launch of our new London shower route. While our current requirement is for twice per week, we are actively working to develop further London services throughout the week.

As we continue to fine-tune our five-year strategy and expansion plans, our ambition is to build a network of community partnerships that enables us to operate a service across the main London boroughs, five days per week. As this develops, there is potential for the role to grow into a full-time position.

This may suit someone looking for more regular hours, while others may prefer to keep to two or three shifts per week. Either way, we'd love you to apply, and we can share more about how the role may develop as our London services grow.

In support of our Central London Shift Lead and working alongside partner homelessness services, the role will require:

  • Hitching and driving our mobile shower trailer across London on a Saturday and one or possibly two other days to begin with
  • Setting up the trailer - levelling it, attaching the standpipe, hooking up the gas bottles, electricity cable and waste pipe
  • Troubleshooting any issues which may arise with the showers on site, such as low water pressure or the water pump not working properly
  • Welcoming shower guests with warmth and respect
  • Monitoring and addressing maintenance needs of the van and trailer eg flat tyres, low petrol, low gas bottles etc
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld and safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Leading a small team of volunteers who will clean and monitor the showers
