Are you looking to train in childcare? A friendly, local nursery in Southsea is looking for a Nursery Apprentice to join their team. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally.
- Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
- Acting as key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them.
- Completing all Apprenticeship work as set by Showcase Training Assessor.
- Assisting with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Being aware of the nursery's policies and procedures and ensuring they are adhered to.
Hours and Remuneration
This role is 35 hours per week Monday β Friday. Candidates will be on a wage of Β£8 per hour, increasing to National Minimum/Living Wage after 12 months of employment.
Training
- Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard OR Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (unless exempt).
