Job Title

We are looking to expand our team with a Junior Designer / Tech assistant role.

Shot Clothing is a dynamic Ladieswear Manufacturer based in Camden, London, supplying multiple fashion retailers with beautiful soft separate dresses, tops, skirts and trousers.

The exciting role we are looking to fill will be based in our busy sample room, assisting our Head of Design to create Digital Design Tech Packs, issuing samples as required by our Sales and Design teams and assisting in fabric / trim selection. You will be a vital linchpin in our sample room process - overseeing the garments from start to finish in a timely manner, photographing and measuring the samples made and assisting the Technical Team in the creation of their Factory Packs.

This role would suit a bright and enthusiastic Fashion Graduate with minimum 2 years industry experience; interested in both the Design aspects of the business, and the technical side also. The role will provide the successful applicant with a thorough grounding in the industry, informing your design development with a detailed technical / construction understanding and the demanding requirements of garment production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating Digital Design Tech Packs using Illustrator / CAD software - translating the Head of Designs sketches and discussing these with the Technical Manager to ensure the garments are suitable for production. The Design packs will need to detail blocks and style references, so you can guide the Creative Pattern team, so the garments are right first time with regards to fit and production feasibility.
  • Issuing Sales and Design Development Samples to be made in the UK and Turkish sample rooms.
  • Measuring all Development samples made and ensuring required garments are made inline with tech pack and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring the sample flow through the UK sample room is in accordance with customer requirements and Buying meeting deadlines, whilst flagging any issues/delays to the relevant managers.
  • Photographing and labelling all samples made and maintaining development spec library.
  • Assisting the Tech Team in creating Factory Production Packs, as required.
  • Finding and filing paper patterns as required.

Qualifications

Bright and enthusiastic Fashion Graduate with minimum 2 years industry experience.
