Stockport ShortList Recruitment has an opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join our client based in Stockport on a fully in office basis. The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for 1st & 2nd line support duties and will be a point of contact for all IT support across the business. This role is the perfect opportunity for a fresh graduate or someone who is in the early stages of their IT career. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, a technical mindset and a passion for IT.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily end-user support via helpdesk ticket management and escalation.
- Install, repair, and maintain hardware (PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, etc.).
- Recommend hardware upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software asset records.
- Train staff at all levels on effective use of IT resources.
- Set up, dismantle, and relocate desks and workstations.
- Experience with user IT infrastructure, including Windows 10/11 environments.
- Experience with hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, phones, peripherals).
- Exposure to networking components (routers, switches, access points).
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong IT problem‑solving abilities and eagerness to learn.
- Articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
The IT Support Engineer will receive a salary of up to £30,000 plus benefits. This is an onsite role based in Stockport requiring 5 days in office. It is commutable from Manchester, Cheadle, Wythenshawe, Wilmslow and Marple.
