ShortList is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer who enjoys solving data integration challenges and building reliable solutions in Enterprise environments. The right Data Engineer will have strong Azure cloud experience and be motivated by working to Azure Data Engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities for the Data Engineer role:

  • Design mapping specifications to enable migrations from legacy CRM and ERP systems.
  • Managing integrations with D365, Dataverse, and other application platforms.
  • Building fault-tolerant data pipelines in SSIS or similar tools.
  • Extracting data from varied sources (SQL, NoSQL, APIs).
  • Implementing data quality frameworks (Soda.io, Great Expectations, DBT).
  • Creating dashboards for data reconciliation.

Key skills for the Data Engineer role:

  • Azure Data certifications, Synapse experience, and experience with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of ETL reliability patterns, data sanitization, and Kimball modelling.
  • Experience with Git, unit testing, and Python in Jupyter notebooks.
  • Familiarity with Azure storage technologies and cost/performance trade-offs.

This Data Engineer role is hybrid with occasional visits to the Birmingham Head office and also client visits as required by the relevant project.
