Job Purpose Manage the effective repair and maintenance of the fleet, including heavy, light, mobile plant and trailers. Daily management of a team of mechanics and support staff to ensure the workshop is efficient and compliant with all legislation Ensuring all operational requirements are met by working closely with our internal departments, external suppliers and sub-contractors. Ensure the vehicles are all maintained, inspected, repaired and quality checked to meet the requirements of the Operators Licence scheduling, reactive maintenance and MOT's. MOT pass rates of 92% minimum national average. Duties and Responsibilities – Job Specific * lead on the training and resources required to maintain and repair Electric Vehicles in our transition towards carbon neutral Fleet. * Plan, control and monitor the work of transport maintenance staff, implementing maintenance standards and setting priorities. * Ensure that all reported defects are assessed and repaired to maintain roadworthiness of all vehicles, rented vehicles and plant in a timely manner. * Liaise with all service/line managers in order to ensure that maintenance and service regimes are undertaken in a timely manner in accordance with legislation * Ensure that vehicle and plant records are maintained, ensure complete record of service and repairs carried out in workshop and with external contractors are compliant with DVSA and audit requirements.
