Working as part of a 2-man team, we are looking to engage with an experienced painter who has experience of painting trains and who has an acute eye for detail. There is no painting involved but we would like to use your experience to cast an expert eye over work already completed.
At GTR, we take pride in the condition of our trains and the image that it provides to help our customers feel safe and comfortable on their travels. To maintain this quality, round the clock activity takes place to undertake work such as the removal of graffiti within the bathrooms and the carriages, ensuring our seats are clean, safe to use and in good condition and the general condition of the carriage is of a condition that our customers can expect.
Due to the extent of the work being carried out, we are looking for a skilled painter with rolling stock experience that can assess the quality of all works being carried out and then whom can raise a report as to the overriding condition of the carriage/toilet after work has been undertaken. This is an unusual role which requires excellent time management and an ability to be able to efficiently plan and time manage your day plus work in a mix of conditions as the train may be at Depot for maintenance at 3 Bridges or Bedford; conversely, you may be required to undertake inspection whilst the train is in service, anywhere between Brighton and Bedford.
This is a contract role with a guaranteed 12 months of work, although we expect that this will extend further. To enable you to undertake your role you will be provided with phone, laptop, and GTR related work wear plus a Rail Travel Card for work related purposes. Primary location of work will be South of Croydon, however subject to requirements you may work North of Croydon in support of the other person in this 2-man team.
