Senior Design Engineer, 132kV Power Networks, Transmission & Distribution £70,000 to £75,000 plus car allowance plus bonus plus benefits Hybrid/Stoke-upon-Trent Job Ref: J(phone number removed) The Senior Design Engineer, 132kV will lead a geographically diverse team of – In house designers, – 3rd party contractors / engineers Working on substation equipment. The role will offer a high level overview of design and interface with various teams throughout the project cycle. You will also update and manage the National Electricity Registration Scheme process. The Design Engineer is the technical guarantor of design works of – design budget (man days), – deadline and – quality, – promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance You will: – plan basic and detailed design activities, including single line diagrams, CAD and earthing designs – manages & oversees progress, * coordinates delivery of required engineering documentation for procurement, manufacturing and site erection associated, based on Customer specifications * Establish, based on tender and contract analysis, and project strategy, the list of documents to produce * Evaluates with the PM engineering workload and deliverables dates * Request from PM required technical coordination meetings with partners or key suppliers * Follows & implements project strategy * Highlights scope or design changes Desired Skills and Experience * Relevant degree or HNC/D or NVQ Level 7 – electrical or mechanical preferred, or significant experience in a design role in a technical setting * Significant experience in 132kV design, from a plant layout or protection and control perspective * Several years\’ experience in managing externally subcontracted design work package of various sizes * Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry at 132kV or above * Full UK driving licence Competitive benefits, and great development opportunities – including private health insurance.
