Are you a commercially driven Technical Sales professional with a strong background in tooling, injection moulding or precision engineering? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established engineering business and play a key role in driving growth across the automotive and aerospace sectors.
The Opportunity:
As a Technical Sales Manager, you'll be at the forefront of winning and delivering high-value tooling projects. Acting as the bridge between customers and in-house engineering teams, you'll manage the full sales lifecycle from initial enquiry and technical consultation through to final delivery. This is a varied and dynamic role combining account management, new business development, and technical estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow and manage existing customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Respond to RFQs and convert enquiries into profitable sales
- Develop relationships with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across aerospace and automotive
- Lead technical discussions around mould tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Manage costing, estimating, and quotation activities (a key part of the role)
- Work closely with engineering teams to deliver accurate and competitive proposals
- Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews and project delivery
- Maintain and manage a strong sales pipeline through CRM systems
- Represent the business at customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
What We're Looking For:
- Strong technical knowledge of injection mould tooling, CNC machining, and toolroom processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD data
- Proven experience in technical sales or business development within engineering/manufacturing
- Commercially astute with a track record of winning new business
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience within automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering sectors is highly desirable
