Shorterm Group are working with a leading precision manufacturing business supporting the Motorsport and Formula 1 sectors, recruiting for an experienced CNC Production Engineer.

The Role

You'll play a key role in bridging engineering, CNC programming, and production, developing efficient machining processes for high-precision components. This is a hands-on position focused on improving quality, reducing cost, and supporting performance on the shop floor in a fast-paced, high-spec environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program 3-5 axis CNC machines using NCG, Hypermill or EdgeCAM
  • Set and optimise Heidenhain-controlled machines, tooling, and cutting strategies
  • Apply DFM principles to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle times
  • Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and process improvements
  • Create work instructions, SOPs, and routing documentation
  • Lead process capability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production

Requirements

  • Proven experience in high-precision CNC machining (Motorsport/F1/Aerospace desirable)
  • Strong CNC programming and CAM experience
  • Good understanding of GD&T, cutting tools, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with Heidenhain controls
  • Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
