Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the installation, servicing, and maintenance of marine electronic systems across a diverse fleet of customer vessels. This is a home-based, remote role requiring regular travel within the UK and occasional overseas assignments. You will work on a wide range of marine and offshore platforms, delivering high-quality technical support both onboard vessels and within workshop environments.

Key Responsibilities of Field Service Engineer

  • Service, repair, and maintain marine electronic equipment on customer vessels, offshore installations, and in workshop facilities.
  • Work on a broad range of systems including:
    • X & S Band Radars
    • VHF, MF/HF Radio Communications
    • Satellite Communications (VSAT, SAT-C, Iridium)
    • GPS Navigation Systems
    • ECDIS
    • Voyage Data Recorders (VDR)
  • Carry out vessel surveys and inspections, including Radio Surveys and VDR Annual Performance Tests (training provided where required).
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Work outdoors and at height when required, adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Provide technical support during occasional weekend or out-of-hours work, on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Undertake additional duties as required as the business continues to grow and evolve.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications of Field Service Engineer

  • Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role within marine electronics.
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • An electronics qualification is essential (HNC/HND preferred but not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work independently.
