Responsible for reducing costs, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing efficiency by embedding quality throughout the project lifecycle. This includes preventing defects, ensuring accurate documentation, and providing clear quality data to support decision-making. The role also supports the QHSE team and oversees inspections and non-conformance management.

  • Support the Head of QHSE, Compliance, and Competence Manager
  • Promote a "right first time" culture through coaching and training
  • Communicate quality requirements to operations teams and subcontractors
  • Conduct in-process, final inspections, and audits across operational sites
  • Review project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Oversee competence assurance to ensure work meets required standards
  • Manage non-conformance reports, including tracking, resolution, and root cause analysis (e.g., 8D)
  • Implement and maintain inspection, testing, and evaluation standards
  • Carry out goods-inward checks, including FAIR reviews and supplier validation
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain to improve quality performance
  • Support development and maintenance of quality control procedures

Experience in quality management within the rail industry. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. High attention to detail and results-driven approach. Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications: HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline. Audit qualifications.
