Job Location: Inverness

Hourly Pay Rate: £23.50 PAYE / £29.98 Umbrella (+ £1.28 P/H Umbrella retainer)

Shifts: Minimum of 50 hours a week.

Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri 07:00 - 17:00

Duration: 3 Months Minimum (potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:

Working at a live Rail Depot, we require Mechanical Modifications Technicians who will be engaged for the implementation of a sanding box modification on the Class. Duties could include the following:

  • Carrying out modifications primarily on the underframes of the vehicles and interior aspects
  • Renewal of fasteners (washers, nuts and bolts)
  • Tightening of threaded fasteners (torque loading)
  • Carrying out inspections and checks to ensure work completed to correct standard
  • Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer
  • Protection of components

Personal Profile:

Minimum requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent award in a Mechanical discipline or similar
  • Experience of mechanical works on vehicles such as trains, aircraft, marine vessels, plant, agricultural machinery, cars, trucks or buses
