This is a rare opportunity to join our Aerospace client located close to Heathrow Airport. The 13,400m² facility is fully equipped for all aircraft undercarriage-related work including machining, NDT, hydraulics, plating and electrical harness repair. With 99% in-house capability and minimal subcontracting, the team maintains maximum control over quality and turnaround times, making it one of the most technically impressive Aircraft landing gear facilities in Europe. They are currently looking to appoint a paint sprayer to join their team.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Sprayer to join the MRO team, responsible for the preparation and application of protective and decorative coatings on aircraft landing gear components in accordance with OEM specifications, aerospace standards and internal procedures. We welcome applications from candidates outside the aviation industry if you have experience spraying on metal using a spray gun or airless sprayer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and apply aerospace-grade sealants and paint systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and technical documentation.
  • Mix paint and sealing compounds accurately, ensuring correct ratios and quality standards are maintained.
  • Perform precise masking and surface preparation of components prior to coating.
  • Operate and maintain spray painting equipment, spray booths and curing ovens to achieve optimal finish quality.
  • Monitor booth and oven parameters to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Manage individual workload effectively to meet production schedules and business priorities.
  • Adhere to environmental procedures including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment in line with SHE regulations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain required documentation including PER books.
  • Participate in the training and mentoring of team members where qualified and directed.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Proven experience as a paint sprayer - aerospace, automotive or industrial background all considered.
  • Experience spraying on metal using a spray gun or airless sprayer is essential.
  • Understanding of surface preparation, coating systems and quality control techniques.
  • Familiarity with aerospace paint systems and specifications (e.g. chromate primer, polyurethane topcoat) is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, process instructions and coating specifications.
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety practices relating to hazardous materials.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Engineering or similar apprenticeship (preferable).
  • Educated to at least GCSE level.
