Part-Time Temporary Rail Freight Operative
Temporary Opportunity - Approximately 3-4 Months
We are currently seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team on a part-time temporary basis. This role would be ideal for a semi-retired person or anyone looking for one day of work per week over the next 3-4 months.
The Role
This is a unique position involving the preparation of rail freight vehicles for loading and unloading operations. Duties will include:
- Opening and closing rail freight vehicle doors
- Carrying out basic walk-around safety checks
- Ensuring carriage lighting is operational
- Occasionally applying manual effort to operate door latches and mechanisms
- Supporting the safe and efficient movement of freight operations
Working Hours
Day: Monday
Hours: 06:00 - 14:00
In most cases, the work may be completed earlier; however, a minimum of 8 hours will be paid each shift.
Pay & Benefits
£14.00 per hour (PAYE)

Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must:
- Be fully mobile and physically fit
- Be comfortable working outdoors and around rail freight vehicles
- Provide their own safety footwear
